In-Line Continuous Applications

In-line continuous applications are those in which the product is flowing in a continuous, uninterrupted path at operating speed. Typically these are wire, strip, rod, tube, cable and similar types of products. Products can be single lines or multiple lines through a single system.

Power Sonics personnel developed ultrasonic products to do this application over 25 years ago and have the longest experience in cleaning such products and applications with ultrasound. A unique product, the radial transducer, cleans with 360 degree exposure to the part providing the fastest, most even cleaning available. Systems can be a simple wash or more sophisticated wash, rinse, dry systems with filtration, sprays and other ancillary equipment. Typical applications include:

• Remove drawing compounds prior to plating or coating operations
• Clean wire at speeds to 1500 fpm and faster
• Clean copper and aluminum strip prior to forming and welding
• Clean wire and rod during forming operations
• Remove compounds from bar stock
• Clean refrigeration tubing
• Remove lubricants from alloy wire
