Description
These Nylon Elbows offer superior electrical insulating qualities, eliminating the electrolytic action that corrodes tubing. Their low density and softness of plastic give them the ability to absorb mechanical and acoustical vibrations. Nylon 6 fittings are tough, strong, and abrasion-resistant with excellent impact resistance. Nylon’s versatility makes it one of the most widely used thermoplastics. Nylon fittings are an off-white color and maintain good strength at high temperatures, making it suitable for use in both hot and cold-water applications. Nylon has good chemical resistance to organic solvents, oils, hydrocarbons, and fuels. Nylon fittings have poor chemical resistance to strong acids and bases and are not recommended for use with ammonium, boric acid, calcium, sulfuric acid, or hydrochloric acid. Regular maintenance and inspection can help identify potential issues before they lead to failure. Nylon fittings should be replaced when they show signs of wear, such as distortion, damage, or if they are experiencing fluid leakage. Additionally, if the fittings are exposed to high water flow rates, high temperatures, or aggressive chemical media, they may require replacement sooner. It is also important to consider the lifespan of the fittings and their application in the system. DO NOT attempt any maintenance until all utility supplies have been disconnected and locked out.
